First lecture: Prehistoric Architecture

This lecture focuses on equipping first-year architecture stuents with definitions of architecture and some key words related to this specialization. Through exposure to various definitions and perspectives on architecture, student will develop his own definition of architecture. In addition, he will explore other facets of architecture that are not just technical but political, social, historical, cultural, environmental and so on. The second part of the lecture addresses different types of prehistoric architecture, ranging from caves and open-air shelters to agricultural villages.

Objectives :

  1. An understanding of the definition of architecture from different perspectives
  2. Knowledge of the factors that shape architecture
  3. An overview of the key components of architectural space.
  4. The student is introduced to the different characteristics of each period of prehistory
